Rheia: Shinlai Adoption Tryout

Sorry Im really no good with reference sheets... But here she is... Ive never spent more time on anything in my life. I adore her so much

Home: West Rendali, until Viva found her on her travels and saved her during a fight with some rouge Shinlai. Now she travels all over Elaisha with Viva.

Mate: None

Height: 7’ 11” – 10’ 8” when full grown

Age: 20 years old

Mask: Made for her by Viva when she became of age. Carved from oak wood and painted red. (mask subject to change)

Element Progression: After her mother was killed Rheia discovered her element and dedicated much of her time focusing on learning to master it. Though she struggles with the difficult earth element she has managed to manipulate plant growth and can manipulate topsoil and mud so far. She hasn’t yet developed enough to be able to produce tar from the glands in her mouth. She’s patient and works at it every day being careful not to put too much strain on her body.

Personality: Rheia has a very calm demeanor. She doesn’t anger easily and is always looking out for others. She feels she owes it to those who have looked out for her during the dark times in her life to give back some of the kindness they were willing to share with her. She has a good sense of humor and can be very clumsy at times. Her personality clashes well with Viva’s hot temper. They balance each other out and she is often grateful for Viva’s sterner outlook on things. The only time you will see Rheia become angry is when someone brings up her mother or threatens someone close to her. She prefers to stay away from conflict but is learning to fight in case she has to and for friendly spars.

Alliance: She doesn’t know how she feels. Her mother allied herself with the Diala but with her mothers death Rheia's faith and allegiance to the Daila slowly faded. She doesn’t see anything wrong with either side and since Viva saved her she has just followed suit with her and Phlorian and stayed neutral for the most part.

History: Rheia’s parents never intended to conceive a child and when her mother found out she was pregnant everything took a turn for the worst. Her father left and joined the DarkBlood Revolution leaving her mother to give birth to and raise her child alone having refused to join in the revolution. Her mother was a sweet and caring Shinlai always teaching her daughter how to be kind to others and always told her to appreciate nature. Her mother was fiercely loyal to the Daila and every morning and every night she would tell Rheia stories and teach her to love the Daila and trust the Daila. Rheia had a very peaceful and wonderful upbringing until that day.
When Rheia was 4 years old, still a young pup a gang of rogue shinlai came and attacked her home. Her mother fought to protect her daughter. Rheia watched her mother be slaughtered and ran into a small space to hide from the pursuing rogues. She closed her eyes tight and heard some shuffling and roars before the kind voice of Viva Joyce was gently telling her to come out, that she was safe now. Viva took Rheia in and brought her along on her travels. By the time Rheia was 10 years old she had seen half of Elaisia. Viva would stop and settle down from time to time but never long enough for Rheia to make any truly close friends. Her friends became the earth, the plants, animals, the tickle of the wind. Mother nature kept her company when she felt alone without a friend to play with. Once Rheia stopped mourning the loss of her mother and got over the trauma of the incident she created a ritual she would do every year on her birthday where she would go to a peaceful quiet area and just sit and meditate once in a while saying a few words talking to the sky, talking to her mother. Since the death of her mother her views of the Daila had changed. She didnt know what to believe so she decided to believe nothing. She decided to judge other Lai for who they were not what they believed and being with Viva who was of the neutral party really helped her with this as she met so many different Shinlai on their travels. One day a Shinlai came into their lives, his name is Phlorian and Viva became quite fond of him. Rheia was cautious of him at first but then accepted Viva's new love and opened her head to both of them. This is her family, the only she has ever known but there are still adventures to be had.

Her favorites: She loves Lilies, will often take decorative feathers and weave them into her hair or tie to her mask (not illustrated above sorry :c ). Her favorite place to be is in a lush forest surrounded by nature but she is very adaptive to any climate she encounters in her travels.

Her dislikes: She doesn’t have many of these though she is skittish with very large booming noises and gets peeved when she sees someone destroying nature.
